Community Gardens of Tucson is really cool, I grow at one of the gardens and have gotten a ton of support and encouragement from CGT. We're working to make our garden location a place where both plants and people can thrive - and CGT has been hooking us up with volunteers, talks, supplies, education, events, seeds, everything! So many great people on the board and across the network of gardens, too. Great place to meet local gardeners and keep growing. Thanks for everything, y'all!

A great organization with a number of gardens around town where one can gain access to garden plots for your plants as well as the tools and water necessary to make your garden grow. There are a number of gardens around town so that you can garden and meet members of your neighborhood pretty much anywhere you live in Tucson proper. I especially enjoy the CGT garden parties with food trucks, live music and various vendors showing their wares whether it be food, plants or art. Always enjoyable with a lot of friendly people.

I am a Community Gardener at The Gregory School, it is a great community of local gardeners. Water is certainly a hurdle gardening in the desert. The drip system used by all the gardeners is sufficient to grow and harvest a multitude of produce, flowers and pollinator gardens. There are many different methods for drip irrigation, making them available to all the gardens would be great, and would require community effort. I agree the design could b... read more

I have mixed feelings. Good idea - execution leaves a lot to be desired. You'll probably be disapointed if you're a gardener looking to garden. I volunteered with this group through work. Even sponsored a garden. Long story short - they have strict rules that stifle the gardening spirit. Its a place to plant seeds and hope they grow. They wont... Their irrigation sucks. Plain and simple. Its a terrible, terrible design. I work in an office of engineers. We replaced their old crusty above-ground uv-scorched plastic flood irri... read more

Having the word "Community" in this non-profits name is a bit of a stretch... Living in the Keeling neighborhood I have neighbors that have lived a block away from our "community" garden since it's establishment and had no idea it even existed.. They have zero connection to our community despite having leadership actually living in the very community of Keeling. There have been ZERO events or outreach efforts for workshops that I or my longer-term neighbors can remember. We are a low income, very diverse neighborhood that co... read more
