I had a large sum of money in the checking account that was advertised as paying 0.77%-3.5% and apparently I received interest of 0.1% (a tenth of a percent or 1 penny for $100.00) on the majority of my money in the account. I called first community, who said they’d “send it to back office to take a look” but were unable to explain to me what dictates 0.77% or 3.5% or anything in between, or where this .001 came from when all advertisements say 3.5% for the account if qualifications are met. Wow, what poor service! I walked in hoping to establish a business account with a smaller bank (in not a fan of Chase). First, they immediately said I had to have an appointment... I fair enough even though there was nobody in the office, just the two ladies. Next, it seemed like I was being interrogated as to what my business was and where I was located, despite simply asking for paperwork that they would need. Unreal how a 2 minute interaction turned me off from wanting any part of that institution... no thanks I'll go whe... read more
