This CSCA was well run until a couple of years ago and past 2 years some of the board members have no clue as to what they are doing and how this is impacting some of the enthusiastic younger chess players. This year they had all girls state chess tournament in CO planned at the same time as the US all girls chess, so this means the events are not well planned even after indicating this is a conflict in the first place, also there is no publicity and awareness. Imagine being excited to take your newly found joy of chess to your first over-the-board tournament (2021 Colorado Open in this instance). You sign up for everything (various memberships), prepare and practice, and make the trip when it's time. When you show up, the event is a total mess. Every scheduled round was 1 to 3 hours late.
