The people that I have met in colonial acres are very nice, but very uninformed just as I was when I moved in here. There is no article of incorporation that I have been able to find that truly discloses how they distribute the taxes in this co-op the only reason I bought into the co-op is because I thought it would be less expensive to live here than in my condo in New Hudson, which was twice the square footage And much more beautiful and my taxes were almost $1000 less. It's full of very kind people that help each other. At a co-op, you pay your condo off and have what they call a maintenance fee that is paid each month. The Maintenance fee ($535.00) is kinda high for a co-op. Because a co-op is to assist lower income people. There are slightly more rules in a co-op. If you can pay a condo off at a regular place, the HOA is usually lower. My neighbors down the street pay $350.00 for their HOA. And once a job is done from raising the HOA, it will go back down.
