Having recently spent more than 3 weeks in respite here at collington, I found the care and concern provided by the staff to be wonderful. Whether interacting with the medical & nursing staff or the aides who always provided thoughtful and through support; or the dining group who enabled residents to select their custom meals days in advance; interacting with the housekeeping staff who thoroughly cleaned the facilities each day; or the personal laundry
Don't die here. Loved one has been dead for over a week and we can't get a death certificate. Just ridiculous.
My sister and I toured Collington a few years ago for our parents, and it seemed very nice. However, at that time, we decided to go with a 55+ community. Fast forward a few years, my dad my dad had a stroke and needed rehab. The Collington nurse rejected him, stating that his needs were too complicated (despite the fact that he was ambulating and able to perform ADL's). We had reservations as guests of a resident couple. We sat for over thirty minutes before the waiter took our dinner order. By then, the alternative menu was closed. And the buffet was basically out of food. The waiter obviously didn't care, and the three other employees we asked for help just pointed us back to the waiter. We had waited a month to try the crab cakes, and barely had any food at all.
