I want to sincerely thank Courtney Benson for the help she gave me during my 8 month stay at Manatee County Jail. I was looking at 4 years in prison, and walked away with 8 months and a program. Long story short, you’d be better off with a public defender. This is one of the worst attorneys I’ve come across. Believe the negative reviews, because that’s the real experience you’re going to get. Unless you want to go to trial or risk ending up with more time than you were originally offered by the state, I would avoid her. She won't talk to you before, during or after hearings. A month ago, Courtney did her big one on my case.
