Called in to assessors office to set up personal property tax account . Melanie Oliphant did an excellent job giving me information needed to set up my account which I requested online because I am on oxygen. Thank you.

4 tax increases in five years.. Just found out that they're going toraise our taxes 12%.next year .. In two years time, they're gonna raise them again... Probably next year they'll raise personal property taxes as well... The Assessor needs voted out of Clinton County as well as the collector... They don't care The last time I called , the woman on the phone laughed and said your taxes aren't supposed to go down there only supposed to go up... How are we seniors supposed to retire?. Especially for Farmers..

Went into the office at 8:15, was told they did not arrive until 8:30, understandable. I waited patiently until one of the office ladies arrived to then be told she didn’t have her computer up and running but I could come in and wait, also completely understandable. What I don’t appreciate is that i was treated as a burden/annoyance for arriving as soon as they opened, then be misinformed on the status of a piece of property that was not even associated with me, rather my parents. To be treated like this right when they walk... read more
