Cool over look of the old smelter. Was close when we got to it so really didn't get to check it out. Plenty to explore around town .

Clarksdale was the inspiration for the Monkeys song, Last Train To Clarksville. It was released as the band's debut single on August 16, 1966, and was later included on the group's self-titled album, which was released on October 10, 1966. Unknown to many, the song was a political song about the Vietnam War.

The docent, whose name I don't remember but was an elementary school teacher there for many years, was warm, friendly and welcoming. She was very informative and encouraged me to share family photos and articles of interest to the museum. My family history in the area goes back over a hundred years and in Arizona over a hundred and fifty years.
