MHK is a small town that wants to be a big town. The problem is nobody at the city knows how to make that happen. The roads are horrible and the infrastructure is not designed for the large volume of people who travel here during the day for work/school. Most people who work here cannot afford to live here.
Manhattan KS and more specifically Riley County is the most corrupt place I've ever lived. There is no elected Sheriff, the sheriff's department was "consolidated" with the Manhattan police department years ago and now the director of the "Riley County Police" who acts as the Sheriff is nothing more than a corrupt tool appointed by the "Law Board" made up of attorneys.
