As South Carolina was struggling to recover from the traumatic years of The Great Depression, the citizens of Olanta longed for a local financial institution. Many were beginning to dream again and set financial goals, but they needed a bank nearby, one operated by people they knew and trusted. When a bank was established for them in 1943, it could only be named The Citizens Bank. And the citizens were very pleased with the unique style of personal, courteous, efficient service they received.
