The absolute worst financial company to work with on this planet. Customer Service is an absolute clown show. Tons of hours wasted on the phone, getting nowhere. They say they’re gonna send me a letter in the mail, never get the letter. Cannot verify me although they know it’s me they’re talking to. Account access is prohibited until remedied. But nobody can help… It is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever experienced. 0 Stars.
Reneisha Williams is an excellent banker who went above and beyond on customer service. I stepped in the Branch last Thursday 1/30 around 5pm looking for Notary last minute on auto insurance documents. While notary services closed at 5pm, Reneisha helped me to get my document notarized outside the normal service hours. Additionally, she advised me on the promotion for Chinese Lunar new year to uplift the interest rate for my saving account with require deposits. I’ve never experienced a more absurd application process than the one I faced when trying to open an account with Citibank. Not only do they check your information with credit bureaus (and require your credit reports to be unfrozen, or they’ll deny your application, claiming 'we couldn't verify it'), but they also demand additional address verification. I would give negative stars if I could. This is by far the scariest and worst banking experience I've ever had. The short version of my experience is that Citi completely blocked my access to my bank and credit card accounts with no warning and not in connection to any specific security event.
