Nothing but headaches with this bank. Banking with Citibank is a negative experience. Will be closing our accounts here as they just blocked our checking account for no reason out of nowhere, without any notice, with money on the account! Beware, as now they will just block anyone's account without a heads up for some made up reason. Absolutely outrageous. Been with this bank since 1996. Update: It was resolved by Ms Francesca who's very knowledgeable and helpful and knew what she's doing and what needs to be done. Took her 15 minutes total. After being a customer here for nearly 30 years and even with proper court appointed documentation, this branch is refusing to close our late mother's checking account and give the money back. Just awful. Citi closed my dad’s account for no reason and wouldn’t do anything to help get it opened in a timely manner. Sent his house into foreclosure as a result. Fast forward to after he passed away, I make an appointment to get his financial affairs squared away, and after confirming the appointment, I take off from work and appear at the bank to set up an estate account, only to learn the person with whom I made the appointment wasn’t even working that day. Citibank in 445 Forest Ave SI,Ny 10310 has a young man Michael Shenouda who helped me opened my account he is so young and so professional caring and truly impressed me with his customer service ethic, rare nowadays and Shinnie Macwon the manager went out of her way for me I did not have an appt and after days of going back and forth to a few Citibank locations because I’m a new employee and the check was not registered and I didn’t have an account so she knew I was struggling in the verge of tears because that Saturday morn... read more
Worst banking experience, somehow it is the customers fault the office can’t manage appointments in a common sense way. Walk in with an appointment and I’m told by teller “we’re booked you need to come tomorrow”. Upon question how this happens, why it happens and why it’s not fixed the teller asks “are you done”. Meanwhile the person who I had the appointment with is sitting behind the counter chatting. Staten Island manager doesn’t seem much better, can’t even get him on the phone and no messages returned.
