It’s no secret that the American mall is an endangered species, but the Citadel Mall is clearly struggling more than most. Unless management finds a way to completely reinvent the "mall experience," I don’t see this location surviving for the long haul. ​The first red flag is the parking lot, which is in deplorable condition, riddled with wear that makes even the drive-in a headache. It is a shame, because Charleston really needs and deserves at least one good mall where people can enjoy shopping, walking around, and spending time. Unfortunately, this mall felt dark, empty, and almost abandoned. Many of the stores were closed, and the overall atmosphere was not inviting or enjoyable. It does not feel well managed, and the vibe does not encourage people to stay, explore, or come back. Shante keeps the restrooms lookin great. She came in to clean the already spotless restrooms while I was in there. She was awesome and super friendly and personable! Give that woman a raise yall
