Never got my money back after 9 business days since the merchant have cancelled the pre authorization on my account
Extremely disappointing customer service. I was given unreliable information by a branch manager regarding access to my funds, which resulted in a lengthy and frustrating situation. When I asked for help resolving the issue, I was repeatedly given the same unhelpful suggestions instead of having alternative solutions properly explored. Since opening up my accounts here I’ve had awful service. I feel like there is one issue after another and it’s so hard to get ahold of my banker. I regret changing my bank to CIBC and will look into moving my business elsewhere. Terrible branch and terrible service. Avoid using this branch if you can.
Pros: Some of the staff is okay. Also, CIBC has a very nice online platform. Cons: The investment advisor at this bank... underestimated my knowledge and experience. And some of the people here are either 1. naive 2. they care about the bank more than you. Anyways, the investment advisor told me I couldn't do something. Bad service here, I made a deposit - the teller made a mistake when they entered the amount. I went back the next day with my receipt showing them the mistake - the manager fixed it but basically said its my fault for not double checking the deposit amount. I also got a parking ticket for using the CIBC parking lot while I was at the branch... ticket said I wasn't a CIBC customer. CIBC manager wouldn't cancel the ticket - I had to threaten to close my account before he'd do anything.
