For any Brits moving/visiting, I'd strongly advise not going with this bank as there's loads of hidden scam fees that you can get hit with. I'm sure many of them would be considered fraudulent in the UK. This, coupled with their terrible customer service, I've never been able to resolve an issue in the physical bank, they just refer you online for every scenario, so you can be standing in the bank and they'll tell you to go home and call them, quite shocking. One of the worst experiences I’ve had with a bank. This CIBC branch claims to be open until 4 pm on Saturdays. I rushed over after work and arrived at 3:37 pm, only to be denied service to open an account. An Indian lady at the front told me they couldn’t help me because they were “closing soon.” Closing soon? That’s still 23 minutes before the actual posted closing time.
