Husband tried to withdraw money from the ATM and it had broken during the transaction. He did not get the money but it was taken out of his account. He spoke to the teller and they said it should be flagged and will be refunded in 24 hours. This was not refunded and the teller forgot to flag this on the account and now they will not process the refund. We are out over $200.00 for a CIBC error!!!!
Don't bother phoning, regardless of why. You will not be able to speak to anyone.
The level of incompetence here was honestly mind-boggling. I went in to withdraw funds from my RRSPs, something that should be routine. The employee did not know how to do it, so I had to look up the process myself and walk her through it step by step. Despite me clearly asking for a cheque, the money was first deposited into the wrong account. Then a cheque was ordered anyway and sent to the wrong location.
