The phone system that is supposed to allow you to contact the bank is run as a call screening system where every call is left to go to voicemail and then you get a call back from someone other than the person you were supposed to be contacting to confirm a meeting. This visit was frustrating enough that I feel others should be aware. I stopped by this CIBC branch for a straightforward ID verification after being directed there by CIBC Mastercard customer service. What should have been quick and routine turned into a long, unnecessarily stressful experience due to poor communication and attitude at the front desk. I have been banking with CIBC for over 22 years, both personally and for business, and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. The branch manager, Ellie Amiri, at the South Fraser Way & Clearbrook location was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. There is a clear note/message on my account stating that bank draft fees are not to be charged. Ms. Amiri was fully aware of this, yet the fee was still charged anyway. Worst branch ever. Staff are rude. They dont call you back. I had go into the branch wait over an hour just to see the woman who won't call me back and now I am pulling all my investments.
