I’m really disappointed with the service at this CIBC branch. I went in to update my SIN after becoming a permanent resident, which is something you are required to do. Employers and banks need your permanent SIN for proper tax reporting. Instead of helping me, the staff told me I didn’t need to change it. That is flat-out wrong, and it shows a serious lack of training on something as basic as SIN rules. If I had taken their advice, it could have caused problems. I've been banking here for over 10 years and this is the second time they've transferred thousands of dollars into the incorrect account leaving me to deal with Revenue Canada. An absolute mess.
My confidence is completely shattered with this branch. No communication skills and employee incompetence across the board.
Why is it so difficult to speak to someone to have a simply question answered. Would not recommend
