Extremely disappointing experience at this branch. I’ve been using the same service monthly for over two years, with the same amount, without any issues. Today, the branch manager handled my request in a dismissive, rude, and unprofessional manner, refused to provide the service, and repeatedly hid behind “policies” without offering any reasonable explanation or alternative. Only one part time teller is crazy for a branch.
Went to get rolls of coins from a bank—CIBC, a chartered Canadian institution—and apparently they don’t bother with that service anymore. Still top-tier in fees, bottom-tier in customer service. Gotta love a duopoly: Canadians pay more and get less
I visited the branch today to address several inquiries regarding an issue with my debit card. Prior to this visit, another branch informed me that the clicking noises coming from the card reader were likely caused by physical damage to my card, and that replacing the card would most likely resolve the issue. CIBC app calls this a banking centre; but when I walked in I was told they do not offer banking services and that I would need to walk to another CIBC for in person banking (they have an ATM here). 1 Star for not updating the CIBC app nor Google Maps/data to explain this isn’t a “bank branch”.
