(Update Below) CIBC is the worst banking experience I’ve ever had. Their customer service is to the point that there is nothing at all. Their employees don’t even bother checking anything and I think if they ever have intention to even be a bank they should start with hiring people who care about their consumers which might be never. This is a sincere review and if anyone wanted to open their first bank, do not try with CIBC first. Try TD or Scotia whom you will have a much better experience. I had an excellent experience at the CIBC branch thanks to Frank. He took the time to thoroughly explain all of the banking benefits and services available to me—things I wasn't even aware of despite visiting other CIBC branches in the past. This was by far the best customer service I've received at any CIBC branch. Despite 2 emails from my CIBC contact in Grimsby, 2 voicemails and an in person visit from my self, I’ve now been waiting for more than a week for their financial services rep to confirm an appointment so that I can administer my father’s estate account. I cannot tell if this is willful avoidance or just incompetence but once I am finished with my duties as executor, I will be closing all of my CIBC accounts, including the one I’ve maintained since 1987, as this is but the latest and most egregious example - with only one ex... read more
