I’m very happy with this company—they helped me save a lot on my taxes with careful attention to detail, which I didn’t experience with the bigger firms like H&R Block in the past. I think they have multiple offices near this one.
I would strongly advise avoiding Jacobson Lawrence & Company. I just left their service after years of spotty email correspondence from them, they were GPL when I started with them. What I think happened is they figured I was going to be ending my client relationship with them and, unauthorized, took $2,118 out of my bank account, no notice, no invoice, no receipt until I asked them to provide it to me. This firm handled our taxes for years, and we always looked forward to working with Dave Christiansen. Since selling the business to an "Umbrella company", as they called it in a letter they sent to us last year, this firm has turned shady in a surprising way. Dave no longer returns calls or emails, and we were shunted off on an EA (not a CPA) named Jack who was pretty careless and clueless. Nevertheless, we were charged Dave's rate ($480), which is hardly worth it when working with someone like the guy they paired us with. ... read more
