A must visit every time I'm in Taos!
I didn't walk into Chokolá so much as I was summoned — pulled off the plaza by a scent that had no business being that intoxicating on a New Mexico street corner. We stopped in for ice cream but ended up getting chocolate and raw cacao as well. The shop is quaint and appealing. We got 6 truffles that were all very good. The unique flavor combinations reminded us of a shop we visited in Bruges called The Chocolate Line. The shop host was fun to talk to about chocolate and told us a lot about the owner and her process which made us feel connected and confident supporting this small business. Amazing shop! Kind people, lovely environment all over. Delicious menu items. So many options and everything looks so delictable Pastries and cakes are great. So good. Five options for sipping chocolate! You can get truffles or cake or mousse or an affogato or a snowfall which is like an affogato but with sipping chocolate instead of coffee. For those they make the ice cream in house. I personally felt like the snowfall with the salted caramel ice cream didn’t highlight the chocolate enough. The next day we went back and I got the French vanilla iced chocolate which was fantastic.
