I just baptized my new Chippewa 10wt fly rod here at the Kenai River in Alaska today. I seriously thought at some point it would break because I am not one to baby my fishing equipment. Last week I snapped like a twig a TFO BC 10wt fly rod while salmon fishing that I now intend to sell on eBay once my replacement tip comes in. Long story short these rods are the truth and I am now a believer. If you want a fishing war stick that will not fail you in battle look no further.
Chippewa River Custom Rods is a class act. I love popper fishing for bluegills in the spring and occasionally fish for smallies in the river. My old St. Croix rod had a broken tip section. I am particular and local stores around here don't have much. So I asked Tom if he would make a new tip. He can't get St. Croix blanks. He offered to build me a rod for $275. Couldn’t be happier with my Chippewa Custom rods! Purchased a 10 wt predator fly rod for musky/pike and an 8 wt extra fast streamer rod for bass.
