My father is 89 years old and has used Handydart for a handful of appointments. This system is horrible. Only one time were they on time. Each time the bus was empty and the drivers were rushing him to get on. I sat outside with him 15 minutes before supposed pick up time and only 1 time were they on time ...with an empty bus. We only booked for shower and Doctor appointments and 2 appointments were canceled because he did not arrive within at least 60 minutes past appointments. Aug 26 First let me say some dispatchers get it right , some people booking get it right . The drivers are sometimes good sometimes not . Handy Dart was booked for my Dad to go to lifelabs and get bloodwork done . They got him there on time but he took a little longer to get it done so pickup came and left after talking to the nurse who said he was still in his appt . I thought I should share this. I had called this Wednesday to book a Handidart for Friday and at the time nobody answered the phone and I was prompted to leave a message and I get a call back. Well, I never got a call back and then I realized Thursday and called to see if I could book a ride. I was told that it was too late to book a ride for Friday, and I asked why I never got a call back and was told you only get callbacks to cancel or change. Our handydart drivers are top notch,every one of them!!! However,there needs to be more buses,and drivers!!! It’s extremely difficult for seniors to get to their appointments,etc., because of the unavailability of suitable, affordable transportation!! The dispatchers (office staff) deserve a huge hand,🤗🤗🤗🤗 as well! They are very courteous,and friendly, and easy to get along with!!! We are extremely fortunate to have this (Handy Dart) service in Chilliwack!! But we do need more of them!!! Thank you for listening
