I'll look at my most recent bill for my county tax and I am shocked.. it's already hard enough for families to keep the lights on in their house and food on the table.. now the property tax is going up some more.. I don't know how I'm going to be able to pay for it.. I'm going to make an appeal to see if the county can lower it.. understand that the county and the school's opt out of it.. to reduce the property tax.. something has got to be done about this this is disturbing.. the property tax rates have got to go back down.... read more

We purchased a property in late 2023. In 2024, a notice was sent to former owners about taxes owing. To make a long story short, we received fee upon late fee. When this finally was brought to our attention, we had $4k wracked up in fees. The notice I received said "if paying by mail, payments may be made by check or money order." Immediately, I overnighted a check payment with tracking and required signature. USPS marked it as delivered to the front desk on May 30th. Called this morning to get the total amount of the taxes due for our business and the person on the phone was very unpleasant, ill mannered and extremely rude!

I was pleasantly surprised how fast the homestead exemption process was. I was greeted by security before entering the building. They were very friendly. The office just opened and some employees were just getting situated at their desk. The person who helped me was nice and explained everything she was doing and made the process seamless. Check the website before you go, make sure you have all the documents you need. There was plenty of street parking nearby early in the morning.
