I opened a Roth IRA at this Chase Bank branch. When I wanted to deposit funds into it, the employee told me, "Don't use that account; let me open a new one for you instead." She proceeded to open the new account and immediately deposited my money into it. It was only later that I discovered she had opened a Traditional IRA—an account I did not need—and had deposited my funds there without informing me. I am left wondering whether her actions were intentional or simply the result of professional incompetence.
