My 97 year-old mother made an unplanned moved to Chartwell Rockcliffe after a fall left her unable to return home. Despite the short timeline and the special needs associated with her injury, the transition has gone smoothly. The facilities are beautiful, the food is excellent and the other residents are kind and welcoming. The entire staff team is wonderful - so many good-hearted individuals who seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. Our move in a little over a month ago was smooth and seamless. All the staff have been understanding and helpful including Denis in maintenance and Lorna in housekeeping. The transition so far to our new lifestyle has been relatively stress free. Residents including Larry, Theresa, and others have made us feel welcome. The meals are nutritious, varied and delicious. We are participating in some of the various activities in the residence.
My husband was there for 3 years until I had to move him out due to rapid memory decline related to Alzheimers. His care & treatment by the friendly caring Staff & Nursing team was excellent. chef Ulriche & team produced wonderful creative tasty meals which we really enjoyed. The Environment of the public & dining areas are befitting of a first class Retirement Residence for independent Living. August 2024: a leap of faith across the Rideau River from our condo in New Edinburgh to Chartwell Rockcliffe where we immediately felt this was our new home; no regrets. Management and Support Staff are present, respectful, caring , friendly and have a listening ear, warm hearts. Being surrounded by nature is such a Blessing.
