I have been coming to The Sewing Boutique for the last 10+ years. I first came because it was close to my house but I havent lived in the area for 4 years, and still go there for every alteration project. The quality of work and service are impeccable. I highly recommend them.
A feature of a lovely hand made bag I had bought 13 years ago, was the underlying purple mock leather which unfortunately had deteriorated and was shedding. I thought it might be in the “too hard basket” to restore. Connie’s team convinced me it was doable but would be a fiddly job involving the removal of its beautiful embellishments - front & back, replacing the flaking material with the new thin purple leather I had sourced, & restitching the embellishments back on. Connie and all the ladies at the Sewing Boutique were absolutely wonderful. They made me feel comfortable and were very helpful when I originally enquired on the phone about having a dress altered. After spending a mint on the dress, I wanted to make sure wherever I took the dress, they would look after it. A caution to any future customers. Though Connie is correct that end result of my WEDDING DRESS was great, except a A HUGE STAIN ON THE FABRIC WITH NO EXPLANATION, the process of working with her was hellish. She is not welcoming, and customer service is absolutely not a priority to her. She is abrupt and rude and made a huge error with a miscalculation resulting in an initial garment that was nothing like what was discussed.
