My mom and I went in during a port stop on a cruise. My mom had a fat quarter from a friend that she wanted to match with fabric, so she went to the front counter to let them know she was bringing in fabric. The woman looked at her and said, "Okay. Well, that DOES look like one of our fabrics." I saw a fat quarter bundle that really caught my eye, but I wasn't sure what to do make from it and I hate buying fabric without having a use for it. Great for Alaska fabrics
(I'm not sure what happened to the beginning of the review that I wrote, but I will try to remember what I initially said...) Edited to add... The fabric and yarn here are absolutely beautiful, but they pale in compared to the service we received. Everybody we encountered, from the owner to a lady working on the fabric side to a young lady working in the yarn side were delightful and attentive. I hadn’t been inside a quilt store in a few decades, but I stopped into Changing Tides with a friend and ended up really enjoying the visit. It was one of those unexpected downtown Juneau stops that turned out to be much more interesting than I anticipated. There’s a lot of local Alaska flair throughout the shop, including Eagle and Raven sewing kits and all kinds of whimsical fabric selections that feel right at home in Southeast Alaska.
