I got my letter mailed from Spokane, Washington, certified mail on October 14, 2025. That was the first day I learned that I had failed to pay the September 1 second installment. That's my fault. But this is not the work of a competent treasurer. Byron Clark doesn't seem to be interested in serving the taxpayers, rather, he hires outside out of state entities to send tersely worded notices collecting interest and "$10" in costs. That office is terrible. They stopped automatic online payments, claiming that they sent mails about to people. However, when someone forgets about it, they do not send reminder that you have not paid the tax, but start to sneakily charge monthly 1.5% interest rates. Given, that the property tax rates are extremely high, while there is not much in return (see schools, road, etc), it feels like that I am robbed. I had my bank mail my tax payment to them directly. They mailed it back to me and still say I need to pay. I've never seen such an inaccessibly payment process. I can't understand how they haven't had an ADA grievance filed.
