This is my favorite store in Stowe! Going there is like going on a treasure hunt every time. Cheryl has an eagle eye for beauty, and this is reflected all throughout the store. She's very warm and hands on if you need her and she also gives you the space and time to browse around and find things you don't know you need but that they elevate your life in the most fabulous way. Chalet Life is such a lovely store. It feels relaxed but elegant, with a really beautiful mix of antiques, furniture, clothing, and jewelry. The overall vibe feels very European, kind of French or Swiss, without being fussy. I have a wrought iron lamp from there on my desk that I love, and an apple green mohair jumper that I wear all the time and always get compliments on. Everything feels thoughtfully chosen and easy to live with. Just a really nice place to browse and find special pieces.
Cheryl’s shop was a lifesaver for a last-minute Christmas gift during our Stowe trip. Thoughtful selection, wonderful help, and a gift our hosts truly appreciated.
Chalet Life is like a lot of the finer things in Vermont. It is layered in thoughtfulness and detail. We were invited in on a summer afternoon, as the owner was friendly and welcoming. When walking in, you will notice multiple themes and curated items. Curios of indeterminate age are clean but show their true lives. A walkway guides the store patron through the retail experience.
