Century Stamp Co. Ltd was established in 1946 when it opened its first retail outlet in a rented mezzanine in a large bookstore in Heliopolis, Egypt. Owned and operated by Emil N. Hakim. Emil started collecting stamps in 1933 at the age of 7, when a relative gave him his first album. By the Age of 12, he started dealing professionally with stamps, by buying and selling to the local stamps dealers in Cairo, Egypt.
