The loaves are often cut so poorly that several slices are too thin or too thick to be useable in a sandwich, and I recently got a half-loaf of country white bread from them that was clearly made with tainted flour, there were some sort of flies absolutely bursting out of the bread once the slices were separated. The incompetent slicing was one thing, but they're endangering their customers using tainted flour
The Walnut Cranberry and The Cinnamon Raisin Bread doesn’t have any flavor any more. I use to love this bread, seems line you cut down on flavor. For sure you can’t taste the cinnamon in the cinnamon raisin bread and no flavor at all in the cranberry walnut. What has been done to make it so bland?
Truly the best bread in town. I'm especially obsessed with their baguettes, but love everything they make. Their bagels make amazing breakfast sandwiches, brioche buns elevate a burger, sandwich bread makes tasty French toast, and on and on. I normally buy it at Common Ground in Urbana and the Urbana Farmer's Market when it's in season.
Sooooo good! I happened to be in Schnucks Ladue when the garlic bread was being demonstrated, tasted it, bought a loaf and then went back the next day and came home with the cranberry walnut and country white. These are a staple in my house now and the garlic sourdough is incredible!!! Freezes well!!
I just bought the sourdough everything bagels and WOW they exceeded all expectations. They were packed with flavor and extremely moist. They made my lunch 10x better. Thanks CI Bakehouse!
