Unfortunately we had to surrender our cockatoo after 8 years due to my mother's declining health. Amy reached out to me and has been such an amazing resource and support. She was able to come and safely get our cockatoo and has been updating me weekly on his transition and care. I don't know what I would've done without these guys. I am forever thankful. This situation has not been easy.

After many months of heartbreak trying to decide what was best for my red-bellied parrot, Mr. Poe, I reached out to Central Florida parrot rescue and spoke with Alexa filled out the surrender form and within 2 days they were at my house, driving 3 hours to get to my house, to pick up my precious boy who I could no longer give the life he deserved. By that evening he was stepping up and enjoying family time with Paul and Alexa and all I can say is that my heart is at peace. Thank you so much for all you do for our feathered c... read more

Alexa was extremely compassionate and understanding of our situation and she seemed incredibly knowledgeable about my Sun Conure. She stayed in communication and provided updates and pictures to assure us that our bird was transitioning well and well cared for.

It was an incredibly difficult decision to surrender our bird, but Central Florida Parrot Rescue and Parrot Sanctuary made the process so much easier. Knowing our bird will be going somewhere they are genuinely cared for brings us so much comfort. We never felt rushed to say goodbye, and the compassion shown by the staff meant more than we can express. We are truly grateful for their kindness and would highly recommend this organization.

I will forever be grateful to Alexa and the Central Florida Parrot Rescue and Sanctuary. I had to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome my two parrots as I had cancer and heart and lung issues and was advised to not keep my birds. My Moluccan Cockatoo is 26 and I had him since he was 6 months old, my African Grey I adopted when he was around 5 and he is now around 30. Alexa was so compassionate and understood how difficult this decision was for me. She hugged me and reassured me they would be fine as I was devastated. Sh... read more
