While suitland as a whole might not be the best, VPA is what shines through. The students are all creatives and theyre the best at their craft, theres such a wide variety of majors for kids to choose from and it makes me think that art (all forms of it) is never going to die.
The Center for the Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) in District Heights is an incredible program that allows students to grow creatively, academically, and professionally through majors such as Dance, Music, Theatre, Television & Media Production, and Visual Arts. What makes the program so amazing is the way it combines strong academics with professional-level artistic training, giving students opportunities that prepare them for college and future careers in the arts. They make us pay for a show that some random person choreographed at a public school. But when the students choreograph dances, the show is free. Not having enough to pay dance teachers is a personal problem.
