Probably my least favourite station. There’s never anywhere to sit and it’s designed to be hostile to commuters. The benches here are incredibly uncomfortable. Bathroom cleanliness is a hit or miss, usually it’s clean but sometimes it’s dirty. Train times are clearly displayed on monitors that hang from the ceiling and communication about Amtrak and MBTA delays/messaging is great, both displayed on the screens and stated over the loudspeaker. Anyways, here are some pics I took at Providence station.
Located in a nice spot that is very close to downtown Providence and the Providence Place mall. Station is clean and tidy, but could use some refurbishment on the stairs which connect the concourse to the platforms. They are often narrow, making boarding and deboarding feel a little cramped sometimes.
Clean and safe. Easy to find your platform / train. They give good verbal direction overhead. Coffee shop is good. No public showers or foot washing stations, but that’s life. Could use a sock vending machine.
Great experience, Mr. Jerry was very informative as well as the train conductors.
