Whether you like chemistry or you're forced to take it, DO NOT COME HERE. The OSU Chemistry Department and its Labs are THE WORST. If you want to do chemistry, do it somewhere else. The Chemistry department as a whole is horribly mismanaged by people who couldn't care less what the students WHO ARE PAYING THEIR SALARIES think. The labs are horribly long, which fine that can be understood, IF the lab procedures were properly set up which they aren't. At the end of last century, I had many lab classes there. At that time (mid-late 90’s) rubber gloves were not available for the students to use. While still a student, I had a part-time job in the prep lab and the “window” passing out equipment for students. It was not too bad but not too good. Hopefully now they provide rubber gloves to students and employees. Whether you are taking labs or working, be prepared to get holes in your shirts, right along benchtop height. every time I've been there before I changed my major, the staffs in that office keep talking about food and wings especially Buffalo Wild Wings, they memorized their menu by heart so if you want their view about some wings that you have not tried yet, please schedule an appointment with them to give you some recommendations.
