Staff was very polite but the "library" is not open to the public. They only let you in with a guest pass if you are working on research there. In other words; it's completely non-functional as a library and you probably shouldn't make any effort to come here.
The Lane Reading Room is the one I’m taking home tonight to my apartment in Russian Hill. A spacious, luminous hall — it’s the light, and those stately metal windows, that make me bloom and want to sing. I sit on a supple, creamy leather chair, reading literature and writing literary criticism, while around me others perch on hard wooden seats, laboring arduously at their study and work. Are these monks in orange robes really having fun? I look so elegant. This library ought to be bestowed upon me.
Visited the Stanford Green Library over the weekend and it was such a great experience. The atmosphere inside is calm, beautiful, and really perfect for studying or doing research. There’s a lot of natural light, plenty of quiet spaces, and the historic architecture gives it a very inspiring feel.
