Im a friend of the family and they are really nice, honest people! They price things but the customers always rip off the tags. They pay more then other pawn shops do. If they didnt have more stuff coming in then going out they wouldnt be so crowded and unorganized. The economy sucks!!! They always over price their items because they always get talked down, no matter what the price is. They dont get the stuff handed to them for free. my girlfriend pawned her \$250 xbox and \$320 dollar ipod, they only gave her\$150 dollars total, she went to pick up her stuff, and they said someone stole her ipod, the kid working there said he would go home and get his for her, I wonder who really took it "wink wink" They gave her a scratched up ipod. What a joke never go to this burnout store!
They do NOT pay more than anybody else, they ARE rude and uninformed about the prices of goods being pawned, and they resell at up to 75% of the items value new, while paying out 10-15% for loans. Two words: "Pawn America". I have stood at the counter while the cashier sits on the computer doing who knows what, waiting to ask a question for as long as 10 minutes. I say 2 1/2 stars.. they are pretty nice there and I can say in the past we got some good enough deals but lately this place seems to be downhill. Maybe it has started declining since Casey passed away. Allot of the stuff is way too overpriced compared to other shops and my father and other people have said the same thing when I brought them in before. they charged me \$25 to pawn my prize possession 5 string bass for 3 days, dropped it off the counter and destroyed my \$100 hardshell case, then told me very genericly to have a nice day 4-5 times while i was on my way out (i was very polite) i told them i wanted to buy some tools specific tools, they had no interest in helping me so i didnt buy any...then i come back and the guido behind the counter was rude to me? never again still wanted to buy some tools ( really needed a chop saw at the time) guess it was a good game o... read more
im sick of pawn shops never haveing the Curtice to put the hours up on there sight its almost as if they dont want customers
It is a typical pawn shop, very unorganized , bery untidy, however, probally the best selection in Janesville, items tend to be over priced, and staff seems fairly unnegotable when it comes to prices, I saw a pc steering wheel there for \$40, however I researched it and it is worth \$20 and with no warrent I wouldnt pay more than \$10. So watch your prices and dont be affraid to do a little research before buying.
First of all,such a nice looking building on Center Ave.,fairly new.However,when one goes inside,it is just like the stereotypical "pawn shop".It needs to be cleaner and more organized to match the outside facade.I was sorely disapointed when I visited the shop one day. Do not expect to bring some items in to sell. They are not buying any jewelry.(I overheard them telling a woman who brought a piece of jewelry in.) I guess that they have plenty.
