Visiting Morganton for a few weeks to do some post-Helene disaster relief work in the Pisgah National Forest. Morganton is a beautiful little town with a lot of charm and things to enjoy. Then you get a whiff of this place and it ruins everything. Honestly the city should probably sue this place for restitutions on the tourism that it constantly loses because of how bad this place smells. How in the world is a chicken factory literally in a downtown? This place emits smells that ruin Morganton as a town, it’s what it’s known for. I lived 2 miles away and got 3 staph infections from barely being in the creek at all just to clean up debris with full PPE on- they have and continue to pollute the community water and air supplies- pretty BASIC stuff that our taxes pay for
