I’m beyond frustrated with Carter Credit Union. This is my first time working with them, and I can honestly say I’ve never had such a poor experience with a financial institution. The problems started when, on August 27, 2024, they forced an insurance charge of $7,616.00 onto my loan, claiming they didn’t have my proof of insurance—despite me sending it multiple times. I have been a member for years, and I've had to replace my debit card a few times due to fraud. I just had to replace it again due to fraud, which I am not complaining about, but currently services are down, and have been down all week for Carter FCU, and now I'm left with no debit card, no way to get 1 until they get their system back up, and being it's a holiday weekend, I have no real way to access my money. For a major financial institution to go down like this, and for so long isn't as promising thing.
My experience with Carter has declined greatly over the past few years. The customer service is awful, the ATMs barely work, and I've had mistakes on my account multiple times. Anyone looking for a bank or looking to switch Banks should consider barksdale Federal credit Union instead.
I appreciate their kindness, eagerness and ability to handle my problems.
