Just went to one of Carpathia's branches to deposit a cashiers cheque from the US and was told it had to be held for 30 days. In what world does a bank hold a cashiers cheque, which is basically cash, for 30 days. I asked the person if all banks were like that and her response was she didn't think so, it was just them. I did check with another credit union and they confirmed it was as good as cash and there was no reason to hold it what so ever.
