Incredible gem of a shop with friendly, knowledgeable staff and a selection of art mediums and supplies that rival any art store in the city.
I stopped into Carlisle Art on a recent road trip. As a practising sketcher I’m always drawn to art supplies! This regional shop exceeded my expectations. I spied some small sketchbooks which I hadn’t ever seen before (Little Green Tree brand) which were perfect to tuck into my bum bag. I can’t remember the name of the lady, who seemed to be an owner perhaps, who served me but I was more than helped by her assistance. So friendly and encouraging! My partner and her Grandfather, (a pretty amazing artist) stopped in as her grandfather was on a holiday to see us from queensland. He was wanting to buy some “cheaper” water colours as he wanted to paint some scenery of our beautiful hills but didn’t want any kits to big as he was only staying for a week and didn’t want to take it all back on the plane with him as he had his own stuff at home. I purchased a few items through their website on Tuesday and it was delivered first thing Thursday. The princeton brushes are beautiful to use and hold the paint well with smoth precise aplication. I would strongly recommend this retailer.
