If you have an elderly relative in here, be cautious, the staff are not so friendly any more, they are not very attentive to your loved ones either. If we had any options of bringing him elsewhere we would, but for the time being we can not move him due to bed shortages. Secondly when you talk to a nurse in regards to care of your relative, they tell you your wrong, and they know best. My mother has been in the Highlander House wing for dementia care since April 1st and she has been receiving excellent personal care and assistance. Her room is clean, her clothes are clean, her hair and body are regularly washed. Overall, I’ve found the staff to be attentive and happy but the day-to-day staff we interact with (HCAs, laundry and cleaners) have been exceptionally attentive and kind to us and my mother.
