I see a surprising number of terrible reviews for Harriston Caressant Care nursing home. My mom has been there just over three years and I think these reviews are not reflective of the place. In my experience, while other nursing homes may look nicer, Harriston’s Caressant Care nursing home is basic in appearance but excellent based on what’s important to me. Very decent place for seniors. Good staff members are well trained and very caring.
My grandfather was a patient that was housed at this long-term care home. Unfortunately, he suffered a fall where he hit his head. The care home assessed him and determined that he was fine. They did not call an ambulance. He passed away 4 hours later. I feel as though the action of the home was negligent and had it not been for the lack of care provided at the time, my grandfather may still be with us today.
