staff cut backs/hours cut forced many good workers to leave who are caring to residents. No housekeeping, short care staff, no building security/desk hours. cheap unhealthy meals. Resident care is not the focus point only $$$$. So sad :/heartbreaking honestly.
So my mom at the university place cottages in Tacoma has had her stuff stolen I visited her today. I put her name and room number on everything when she first went here back in April 2025 her pink slippers , her straw hat her Bible , her sunscreen , and I even gave her a mother's day card and Easter card that she doesn't have anymore alot of her stuff is missing in her room she barely has anything now she was in room c-6 they must have moved her to room to c-7 so all her stuff has her name and room number c-6 on it but they ... read more
I have a family member as a resident here in Arizona and have been hearing directly from the staff about recent firings, reduction of staff, and there not being enough staff to manage the residents' needs (bathing, medication, feeding, bathroom, cleaning [there is no janitorial service]. This corporate takeover a memory care facility is definitely about profits and not caring about residents or the staff. Awful company. Since acquiring Vineyard Park of Sumner in a very short period of time they have let long time staffers go, and reduced staff and services. After a recent fall of a resident which resulted in a bleeding injury, the blood/bio hazard was not cleaned for two days while the resident was living in their apartment. The smell and copious amount of blood in the carpet was overwhelming upon our visit to check on the resident. Apparently there is no janitorial service on weekends or evening. They just acquired Stafford Suites in Port Orchard, WA, and renamed it Vineyard Park of Port Orchard. Already laying off a ton of folk. Heartbreaking.
