I previously left a detailed review describing my family’s experience with this facility while my father was a patient here. That review now appears to have been removed. I’m disappointed that instead of allowing families to share their experiences openly, critical reviews appear to be censored or removed. I will not rewrite the entire review, but I do think prospective patients and their families deserve to know that my original, detailed account of our experience is no longer visible.

Awful. If I could give no stars I would. No one there cares about the needs of the patients. Discharging someone with dementia and no home care services? Booooo

The minute you walk in you are hit with the smell of urine. I would never recommend this place. Even for the food, patient would be brought mashed potatoes and banana smoothies when their chart specifically said allergic to bananas and dislikes mashed potatoes. No sense of urgency or communication. I’m sure care one will reply back with the standard copied and pasted “we take your concerns seriously…please call…” but that means nothing. We’ve called and more. Nothing. This place should be shut down.

My father was admitted to CareOne at King James (Middletown) for short-term rehab after a hospital stay with the goal of regaining strength and mobility. Instead, he spent over two weeks almost entirely bedridden while receiving oxycodone around the clock every four hours. I repeatedly voiced concerns that the excessive use of opioids was leaving him heavily sedated, confused, and unable to meaningfully participate in rehabilitation. My mom was recently at careone at Middletown for a hip fracture. The staff was amazing. The nurses and CNAs took great care of her. The therapy department had her up and walking with in two days. Before her discharge she was back to her baseline. The entire staff was friendly and always made sure my mom had everything she needed. The even checked on her after she was discharged. Thank you so much!
