It's rare after so many years of doing business you meet an owner that treats people poorly, for him to treat my staff poorly. it’s disgraceful. Never had this with previous ownership. But, I guess they don't teach manners in business school. I know when I have customers that I know spend a ton of money with my competitors, I would be wanting to know why and how I can get more of their business. So as a company we were asked to take our business somewhere else, “the little convenience business somewhere else”.
Not really an issue, just surprised. Never seen that business model before. I know we didn't do a ton of business here anymore, but they quit trying to get the dealer's business a long time ago. When a company stops trying, that’s what creates the dealers only using a company for convenience.
I know from experience; I was not handed a business, I built mine from the ground up. It took me a little longer to build my company to be a high-volume service center. But any customer that could be an “A” client I would reach out to and find out why they treat me as a convenience instead of working with me. What can I do to earn their business? I know Aim Wholesale when I slowed the volume that we did with them they reached out to see what they could do to help us work together better. I know at all 3 of my companies we work hard to keep customers coming back and work hard to get more business from my customers.
Just a thought…
But as I had been told from carefree distributing in the past “they have enough customers right now” funniest thing I have ever heard a business say. If you’re looking for a supplier that is more than just a warehouse that pulls parts, that puts an effort to get your business. I would not recommend Carefree distributing.
