I was discouraged from attending survey as I was told he found that people could be argumentative with him so I didn’t show up till 1 hr before dry dock lift. A number of things occurred …the worst being discovered 3 days after the inspection was a small fuel pump (fuel was shut off) being left on burning my fingers it got so hot ! Could have led to a fire on my boat. We had Galen perform a pre-purchase for us in August 2020. He welcomed us to be present for the survey and invited questions. Professional, kind and patient with our questions. Very thorough and detail oriented. It's obvious he has done this for many years and he is extremely good at it. I highly recommend Galen to anyone who is looking for a marine surveyor!
I have never had a more knowledgeable person in the boating industry. He not only did an exceptional survey on our potential purchase but after we did go ahead with the sale he taught my wife and myself how to run our new yacht out in the San Juan Islands. I thought his experience also as a Captain was invaluable to us. Couldn't find a more honest and helpful guy!
Professional, knowledgeable, honest and direct. As a buyers representative he was the right guy, real blue water experience, critical and thorough in a very complex yacht purchase.
I have never, in my years as a boater and as a yacht broker, ever run into a more sanctimonious jackass. From the moment he arrived at the boat yard, it was insult my boat and insult my person. He was approximately 100ft away and had decided to judge my boat from afar. Thank you. First, he was informed by email in writing the boat was a 1958 vintage boat.
