We had the pleasure of hosting Captain Jack at our library in July 2023 (and I think some of our audience are still convinced they met Johnny Depp!). Captain Jack captivated the audience from the very youngest to the very oldest, and we would welcome him back to our library in a heartbeat in the future. All kids left with their own pirate hat and lots of new words as a result of learning their Pirate ABCs. Thanks, Captain Jack, for sailing into Apalachin last summer!

Captain Jack is filled with passion, kindness, and encouragement for young people. His story-time is like no other and keeps kids of all ages engaged (adults alike). You will never regret attending an event, hiring him for an event, or purchasing one of his excellent books.

The first time we brought our son the see Captain Jack was at his Pirate Ship, we were very expressed with the way he create a child safe, trilling educational fantasy at the event for our son and the other children at the event. Captain Jack has also visited the School District in which I work and reads to the children on different occasions, the children love the visits, are excited and talk about Captain Jack’s visits for days after with excitement. Captain Jack has visited Hazard Library in Poplar Ridge a number of times over the years. He is always a big hit and remains totally in character throughout. He has done programs indoors and out and in the summer of 2020 he recorded a program from inside our library to be viewed online since we were unable to have him perform in person during that first summer of the pandemic. He is always willing to accommodate the requests and needs of the venue and he is a huge supporter of literacy in our communities.

We have worked with Captain Jack for a number of community events and it is always a fantastic time! Captain Jack is an exemplary pirate who knows his trade whether he is on the high seas or walking among a sea of excited kids (and a few adults!). His professionalism is unmatched as is his communication. When Captain Jack is around there is fun to be had and joy to be found! I cannot recommend him highly enough and look forward to working with him at future events!
